Hi, I'm Brett.

I'm a people person through and through. I love building connections, helping people solve problems, and creating communities wherever I end up. Whether it's helping a business get set up, supporting entrepreneurs, stage managing a show, or simply being the person people come to when they're stuck, I've always found myself in roles where relationships matter.

Over the years, I've worked in tech, customer support, theatre, retail, tourism, community programs, and even on cruise ships. While those jobs might seem very different, they've all had one thing in common: people. I genuinely enjoy getting to know others, figuring out what they need, and helping make things a little easier.

Most recently, I worked as a Senior Onboarding Specialist with WellnessLiving, helping wellness businesses across North America get set up and feel confident using new technology. Before that, I spent more than six years at Shopify supporting merchants around the world, mentoring new team members, and helping solve some pretty unique challenges.

Community work has also been a huge part of my journey. Through Pow Wow Pitch, I had the opportunity to support Indigenous entrepreneurs across Turtle Island, coordinate programs and events, and help create opportunities for Indigenous business owners to share their stories and grow their businesses.

Theatre has been another constant throughout my life. From working on cruise ships as a Stage and Production Manager to stage managing productions at the Tidemark Theatre, I love the excitement, teamwork, and occasional chaos that comes with live events. There's something special about a group of people coming together to create an experience for an audience.

These days, you'll usually find me involved in local events, volunteering, supporting community projects, mentoring when I can, or chatting with someone I just met. My friends joke that I inherited "Papa-itis" from my grandfather because I can strike up a conversation with just about anyone.

I learn quickly, adapt easily, and genuinely enjoy helping people succeed. Whether I'm working behind the scenes, leading a project, supporting a team, or building new connections, my goal is always the same: make a positive impact and leave people feeling supported, welcomed, and valued.
